FAQs

How does the athlete accelerator work?

The athlete accelerator plan is our low cost entry option for athletes wanting to learn more about the principles of training, nutrition and recovery. Through this option, any athlete can learn how to manage their own training with feedback and support from a coach through the app.

When should my child get started?

We recommend all athletes start 2-3 months before their racing season begins. However, our plans accommodate for athletes starting any time, by adjusting training days and intensity, type of sessions and workload. All athletes are also given the option to manage training sessions around their personal schedule.

Is there a minimum age requirement?

Our minimum age requirement is 13 years old. 

What if my child gets injured?

If an athlete gets injured, we give the options of pausing the membership plan but also provide tools and resources to support with recovery.

How much support is my child going to receive?

Our Coaches are responsive 24/7 for all their support needs and questions along the way. We aim to attend to their needs as soon as physically possible to ensure that their training, riding & racing is always at the highest level it possibly can be, day-in, day-out.

How much time will my child need to commit per week to this program?

We recommend that each athlete aims to dedicate enough time to complete 1-3 strength and endurance sessions, 2-3 on bike practice sessions per week. However, we understand this workload has to be accommodated to specific times of the year and aim to adjust our recommendation.

What if such a structured training program takes the fun out of riding & racing?

We recommend riders to start a program when they become committed to pursuing the path of becoming an athlete.

Is ‘strength training’ or ‘gym work’ dangerous for my young child?

We carefully design our programs to suit the skill level, equipment and capability of a full range of athletes. All programs come with specific instructions, video tutorials and methods for tracking and submitting videos for analysis. Our coaches are committed to ensuring that all exercises are safe and adequate for athlete to improve their physical performance on the bike.

What equipment or facilities does my child need to be able to train?

We have a full range of programs and resources suited for beginners with minimal gym equipment through to advanced athletes training from a commercial facility. A basic equipment kit to get started includes dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands and sleds.

As I parent, can I contact the coach to ask about my child?

We can be contacted via email, phone or in app messages should you have any questions regarding the program, the athletes performance or any general support enquiries.

How long would you recommend a child be on a program?

In order to experience significant progress, we recommend a child stays on a program for a minimum of 12 months. This timeframe would enable an athlete to go through multiple training programs and improve in a range of different skills.

Is there a minimum age requirement?

Our minimum age requirement is 13 years old.

Can I choose my own coach?

You can choose your preferred coach.

Can I have face to face sessions with my coach?

We currently offer online coaching sessions only. 

What if I get injured?

Our coaches and programs can adapt to support your injury recovery. By continuing to work with a coach throughout an injury, you can expedite the recovery process. 

Do I get a personalised program? 

By working with a coach, you will be able to have a fully personalised programs on all areas we teach. 

What does a program cover?

A performance program covers multiple blocks strength & conditioning sessions, nutrition, rest and recovery targets, bike skills practice sessions, injury prehab and rehab sessions. 

How do you teach on bike skills online? 

We have a network of collaborators across Australia we recommend for specific bike skills coaching

How long does it take for me to see improvements? 

Our athletes normally experience significant progress within 12-18 weeks of following our programs. 

Can I change coaches?

You can opt to change coaches during your performance program.
